Katla ICE CAVE 🇮🇸 Iceland Glacier Tour!! 🌋❄️ A MUST VISIT - Volcanic Ice Cave

Hi everyone, we’re heading on a glacier tour to explore an ice cave that sits right above the Katla volcano, one of Iceland’s largest and most active volcanoes. The cave is part of the Kötlujökull, an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull — Iceland’s fourth largest glacier. We start our journey from the small coastal town of Vík í Mýrdal, where we get a short glimpse of a nearby black sand beach and saw Icelandic pony!! The ride to the cave was super fun and I still cant believe we saw an arctic foc!!! Inside the cave, ice mixed with volcanic ash, deep textures, and natural grooves carved by flowing meltwater — a beautiful reminder of how fire and ice exist together in Iceland. This tour was around 3 hours and booked through GetYourGuide. We were really lucky with the weather, and the ice conditions were great. If you’re visiting Iceland, I truly recommend going on a glacier or ice cave tour at least once. It’s one of those experiences that makes you feel very small — in the best way.
