Heterogeneity in deep-water deposits: Implications for subsurface characterization and prediction
Dr. Jacob Covault discusses his work establishing a framework for exploring deep water heterogeneity at large scale using seismic data, with a focus on sand-prone architectural elements, such as channel and lobe deposits. Additional topics include up-to-down-dip changes in channel networks, interaction of channels with mass-transport deposits, such as submarine landslides, the relationship of small (outcrop) and large (seismic) scale features, architectural element geometries and stacking patterns and their evolution.
