Born in Israel, Cohen spent his teenage years in St. Louis, Missouri where, influenced by the art of Jaco Pistorius, he gave up his piano studies to spend more time honing his skill on the bass guitar. After studying the bass at the Music and Arts Academy in Jerusalem, he returned to America — this time in New York City — to make his name both as a solo artist and in successful collaborations with jazz legends like Danilo Pérez and Chick Corea.
