Restoring an Antique French Travel Chest (c.1900, Paris)
I was tasked with restoring a rail / steamer trunk dating to around 1900. It was rusty, dirty, mouldy worm ridden. I generally polished, de-rusted, sanded and oiled it to tip top condition. Made by p.Collonge, Paris, used by Chemin du Fer de L'ouest Railways to 1909. Acquired by S.C.O.M. (Service Central D'Organisation et Methode) 1959-85. Ended up in Oxford, UK 1992. Sold in Merthyr Tydfil junk store 2017. Bonus clip at termination of video.
