The Problem With Princess Bubblegum
Princess Bubblegum never loses. Not really. She gets knocked down, loses the crown, watches her kingdom fall apart. But she always comes back out on top with the power she wanted, surrounded by people who trust her, and the show frames it like that's earned. In this video I break down exactly why that's the problem. The surveillance state she built and called protection. The Candy People she designed to be afraid and never told them. The relationship with Marceline she ended without explanation and let stay broken for centuries. The Flame Kingdom she sabotaged because she ran the numbers and decided she knew better. And the gap between the hero the show kept telling you she was and what her actual behavior reveals about what she values which was never heroism. It was control. Adventure Time spent 10 seasons showing you the evidence. It just never admitted what the evidence meant. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📺 EPISODES COVERED IN THIS VIDEO Slumber Party Panic (Season 1) Mortal Folly / Mortal Recoil (Season 2) What Was Missing (Season 3) Burning Low (Season 4) You Made Me (Season 4) Goliad (Season 4) Sky Witch (Season 5) Frost and Fire (Season 5) Earth and Water (Season 5) The Cooler (Season 6) Rattleballs (Season 6) Broke His Crown (Season 7) Come Along With Me (Season 10 Finale) Obsidian (Distant Lands) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱ CHAPTERS [00:00] — She never really loses [01:20] — The surveillance state she built and called love [03:10] — What she did to the Candy People and why it matters [04:40] — How she used Finn [06:00] — The Flame Princess situation nobody talks about enough [07:30] — Marceline and the cost of closing a door for centuries [09:00] — Why the show looked away right before the credits [10:15] — The most real person in the show ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Rattleballs is the episode I keep coming back to. She built a secret army, decided they were too dangerous, had them all executed, and kept one alive as her personal asset. The fandom almost never talks about it. This video does. If this one made you see her differently leave a like, it helps the channel more than you'd think. Subscribe if you're new because this is exactly the kind of content we make here and there's a lot more coming. And drop a comment — I want to know if you were already on to her or if this video changed something. Because I have a feeling the comments on this one are going to be divided and I genuinely cannot wait to read them. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ #AdventureTime #PrincessBubblegum #AdventureTimeLore #CartoonAnalysis #AdventureTimeTheory #CartoonNetwork #AnimationAnalysis #AdventureTimeExplained #AdventureTimeFinale #Bubblegum
