قصة ابن سينا الكاملة - الطبيب الذي علّم الغرب ٦٠٠ سنة | وثائقي صوتي هادئ ساعة
In the village of Afshana near Bukhara, in the year 980, a child was born who would change the course of medicine and philosophy for centuries to come. This is the complete story of Ibn Sina, the Prince of Physicians, in a full hour of meticulously researched historical narrative based on the biography of his student, al-Juzjani, the research of Dimitri Gutas, and authentic historical sources. 🕌 Seven Chapters, A Life: In the first chapter, we trace Ibn Sina's childhood in Samanid Bukhara: how he memorized the Quran at the age of ten, how he surpassed his teachers in logic and jurisprudence one after another, and how he read Aristotle's Metaphysics forty times without understanding it until he came across al-Farabi's commentary for three dirhams in the book market, which opened the doors of philosophy to him. In the second chapter, we arrive at the pivotal moment: his healing of the Samanid prince, Nuh ibn Mansur, from an ailment that had baffled the greatest physicians of Bukhara. He requested only one reward, other than gold and prestige: access to the royal palace library, that legendary, multi-story library containing books whose names he had heard of but which no one before him had ever seen. The third chapter recounts the fall of the Samanid dynasty at the hands of the Karakhanids, the death of his father, and the beginning of his flight. Khwarazm fell under the protection of the Mamluks, where he met al-Biruni. He then refused the invitation of the cruel Mahmud of Ghazni, who ordered him to have his image printed on pamphlets so that he would be arrested. Forced to flee on foot across the deserts to Jurjan on the Caspian Sea, he was compelled to do so. In the fourth chapter, we find him in Jurjan, staying with the shepherd Abu Muhammad al-Shirazi, where he began writing two books that would change the course of intellectual history: The Canon of Medicine and The Book of Healing. In this chapter, he met his student, Abu Ubayd al-Juzjani, who accompanied him for twenty-five years and wrote his biography after his death. Chapter Five takes us to Hamadan, where the Buyid prince Shams al-Dawla was cured of severe colic. He then served as vizier twice. Once, his soldiers mutinied, forcing him to seek refuge with a friend, a perfumer, for forty days before being summoned again. When politics changed after Shams al-Dawla's death, he was imprisoned in the fortress of Fardjan for four months. There, by lamplight, he continued writing, composing Hayy ibn Yaqzan and al-Hidayah. In Chapter Six, we reach the culmination of his life in Isfahan under the patronage of Prince Ala al-Dawla Kakuy. Thirteen years of philosophical, medical, and astronomical production followed. There, he completed his work on healing, began writing on salvation and signs and warnings, observed a supernova in 1006, and wrote Danesh-nameh Ala'i, the first book of philosophy in Persian in history. The final chapter recounts his peaceful departure in Hamadan in 1037 AH (1627 CE), how he freed his slaves and distributed his wealth as charity, and his famous words before his passing: "The One who provided for me has failed to provide for me, so there is no use in treatment." 📚 Ibn Sina was no ordinary physician or passing philosopher. His Canon of Medicine remained the primary reference in European universities for six hundred years. His Book of Healing influenced Thomas Aquinas and Albertus Magnus. His Book of Remarks and Admonitions remains the pinnacle of Islamic philosophical thought to this day.
