Statics - 3D force balance [The easy way] (Request)
Problem request: Determine the magnitude and coordinate direction angles of F3 so that the resultant of the three forces is zero. Steps: 1. Find components ( Fx, Fy, Fz) of 3D forces 2. Balance forces in each direction (F = 0) and solve equations 3. Find magnitude of force using 3D Pythagorean Theorem 4. Find angles using dot product between force and each coordinate direction x, y, and z (example: unit vector in x direction is [1,0,0]) (No 3D moments are required in this example).
