Handwaves Birth--Deaf Doulas Have a Passion for Babies

For a few years, I was a Doula and attended home and hospital births--so I was thrilled to connect with Ally and Brittany from Handswaves Birth. Ally Balsley and Brittany Noschese are mommies of seven children combined residing in Frederick, Maryland. The challenges they faced from their first childbirth experiences inspired them to become Deaf full spectrum birthworkers. They are also childbirth educators and placenta specialists. In the past six years, they had the honor of being part of many sacred journeys they shared with families. Their goal is to have families feel comfortable in their experiences and to feel confident in making informed decisions directly in their primary language of American Sign Language.
