Interesting Paper Mario Observations (time travel, crashes, cloned partners, glitches, camera hacks)

Here are some interesting observations, glitches, and crashes in Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64, including time travel, cloned partners, and camera hacks. Some of these come from hacking the game, camera, or memory, but there are also insane things you can do by just playing Paper Mario on your console. Some of these observations also crash Paper Mario and result in softlocks. Almost all of this footage came from several weeks of experimenting with Paper Mario, and you can follow me on Twitch to watch this kind of stuff live:   / zxmany   #PaperMario #Nintendo64 #RetroGaming The way Paper Mario was coded left a lot of interesting glitches in the game that players can exploit, including taking advantage of the game's collision properties to get out of bounds and traverse the map in interesting ways. In this video, we start by investigating time travel in Paper Mario and the consequences of time travel. We take advantage of glitches like the famous Blue House Skip to travel time. The Blue House Skip allows a player to skip to Chapter 5 of the game. Combined with the log skip, a player can skip the ending of Chapter 1 and go straight to Chapter 5. Peach Warp is another interesting glitch that can be used to skip the Chapter 5 boss, most of Chapter 6, and all of Chapter 7. Earlier events in the game can update the game's story progress address to bring you back in time, and using later events, you can travel back to the future. We edit values of addresses in the game's memory and explore what happens if we do things such as drop Mario's HP to 0, enter a battle with 0 HP, mess around a lot with the final boss, Bowser, and prologue Bowser, and find out if Bowser with the Star Rod really is invincible, and play as Princess Peach in places where you should be Mario.
