Twenty years after his "Treatise on Atheology," philosopher Michel Onfray expands on his thesis that Jesus is merely a religious myth, who never actually existed, in "Theory of Jesus. Biography of an Idea" (Bouquins). Mathieu Lavagna explains why this mythical thesis is flawed. With his latest work, Theory of Jesus, philosopher Michel Onfray once again raises the question of Jesus' historicity in order to deny it. It goes without saying that we cannot have definitive proof of this existence; it is more a matter of historical plausibility. This would require direct contemporary testimony.
