Hill Country Precision PRS: May 2026

My second Regional Series PRS match had a lot of ups and downs, but was a great day overall. It was a 10 stage qualifier match, apparently the largest single day match in the country with 131 shooters registered. My squad started on stage 8 where I did pretty well despite being the first shooter up and forgetting to put my ear pro in. The next couple stages were ROUGH. My elevation was off on stage 9 and I wasn’t making effective corrections despite clearly seeing I was missing high, I think I was too preoccupied on trying to figure out what the wind was doing. Stage 10 I started way too unstable and with too much magnification to track my misses under recoil, so I couldn’t even get an idea of where I was missing. Stages 1 and 2 turned things around, I only dropped a few shots each, mainly from bad wind calls, but I was able to make better corrections at least. On the next two stages, the wind beat me again, only 2/10 impacts on each stage. Stage 5 I finally had a bit of a mental reset, I made a more aggressive wind call to start out, focused on slowing down my shot process, and ended up collecting 9 impacts before timing out the stage. The rest of the match went almost as well, I got to end on a high note compared to the first half of the match, and I definitely walked away knowing some things I need to work on for the next one.
