Stroke 👉 Know the symptoms - you could save someone's life! Without immediate help, a stroke can even be fatal. Many people mistakenly believe that this condition affects only elderly patients. A stroke can occur even in a young person who hasn't previously experienced any alarming symptoms. It occurs as a result of a sudden interruption of blood flow to the brain. If the patient doesn't receive immediate help, it can unfortunately result in death. A rupture of a small artery is enough to cause blood to spill into the brain, known as a cerebral hemorrhage. In turn, occlusion of an arteriole or its excessive narrowing leads to a cerebral infarction. #stroke #strokesymptoms #strokesymptoms ❤️ Subscribe to our channel, 🔔 turn on notifications for new videos: 👉 https://www.youtube.com/c/Medycyna360... What are the symptoms of a stroke? Stroke is a very common cause of death. It kills millions of people every year. According to statistics, someone in Poland experiences a stroke every few minutes. It can lead to disability. The most common causes of stroke include: 👉 arterial thrombus, 👉 arteriolar damage, 👉 cardiac embolism. A stroke is caused by intracerebral hemorrhage or subarachnoid hemorrhage. It's important to know the symptoms of a stroke so you can react appropriately and provide help. A characteristic facial contortion on one side of the patient is characteristic. A drooping corner of the mouth should raise concern. Other main symptoms include loss of sensation on one side of the body and speech disturbances. Numbness may occur, making it difficult for the patient to express themselves. Sudden weakness in the limbs should be a cause for concern. If paralysis occurs on one side of the body, a stroke may be suspected. Amblyopia in one eye or a sudden narrowing of the visual field also often indicates cerebral ischemia. A stroke can also lead to balance problems. The patient has difficulty moving, and the same applies to maintaining an upright posture. If a stroke is suspected, an ambulance should be called immediately. Only after determining the type of condition can the appropriate treatment be applied. Pharmacological agents are most often administered, but sometimes specific endovascular treatment is necessary. ✅ What increases the risk of stroke? There are many factors that increase the risk of stroke. It most often occurs in older people, typically around the age of 70. According to statistics, stroke is diagnosed primarily in men. Ethnicity also plays a significant role in the development of this condition. It occurs most often in Black people, and the same is true for Latinos. If someone in the family has had a stroke, their children are also at increased risk of developing one. Of course, genetic factors only increase the susceptibility to stroke, but they do not cause it. They do not determine its occurrence. If someone has already experienced a stroke or ischemic attack, it can unfortunately happen again. There are many inherited syndromes that increase the risk of stroke. Sickle cell anemia is an example. 👉 People struggling with hypertension and cardiovascular disease should also be cautious. Stroke is not uncommon in patients with atrial fibrillation. Risk factors also include: 👉 diabetes, 👉 elevated cholesterol, 👉 smoking, 👉 a diet high in fat and high in calories, 👉 obesity, 👉 avoidance of exercise, 👉 depression, 👉 severe stress, 👉 migraines, 👉 artery injuries, 👉 gout, 👉 various infections, 👉 lipid metabolism disorders, 👉 drug use, 👉 blood clotting disorders. 👨⚕️ Please remember that the information contained in the video is not medical advice and cannot replace a doctor's consultation. ❤️ Stay healthy ❤️
