With Dace we enjoy those beautiful days and, perhaps by closing the series of summer videos these days, we will be bringing you closer to Estonia, although in reality autumn is already present in these places. The Pärnu fair, on the southwest coast of Estonia, is the most characteristic event in the city, and with Dace we were lucky enough to witness it. The historic center of Pärnu is small but very cosy. Colorful little houses lined up on peaceful streets and small groups of people walking through them or sitting in a bar or restaurant among well-kept flowers. Generally, calm reigns in this place, unless, like these days, some convening event takes place. An incessant parade of dressed souls circulates through the park and the surrounding streets. The beauty of the place is adorned by the presence of the people. Numerous activities including pictorial and other arts exhibitions, recitals and contests, take place these days next to the river. Among all this, the craft stalls, local foods and clothing call for curiosity. Estonia is the most Nordic of the Baltic countries, its proximity to Finland and the Swedish influence are felt more than in the others. However, it also has a high proportion of the population of Russian origin, which is more noticeable in Tallinn, the capital, and the east of the country, but not so much here in Parnu. The local flag of Parnu has the same design as that of the Nordic countries, which tells us about a political and cultural influence that has been present here for centuries. If you decide to make a tour of the Baltic countries, do not miss Parnu, especially in summer, it is an experience that will meet your expectations and more.
