This, combined with the absence of any pre-existing L6 Unokubi-zukuri katanas from Murasame or other manufacturers before this, suggests it was the first of its kind. Murasame later created another L6 Unokubi for Samurai Byrd, which is now available in their store. While Murasame claims to have made an L6 Unokubi previously, none were listed for sale until after my custom order and subsequent review. Following my review, Murasame listed a similar L6 Unokubi with a black sageo on Amazon and eBay, retroactively dating its availability to 1/1/2021. Prior to my custom order from Murasame, no pre-built L6 Unokubi-zukuri katanas were available from any manufacturer like Hanbon or Bohihyu. I specifically requested this custom blade from Murasame due to their advertised ability to create any blade type in various steels. The katana market at the time primarily offered T10 Unokubi-zukuri or L6 Shinogi-zukuri, with no readily available L6 Unokubi-zukuri options.
