Cigar Ashtray Build — Trying 3 Mini Designs

I set out to make a small cigar ashtray for those who don't need multiple cigar rests. Along the way, I ended up trying three new designs to see which one I liked best. My first attempt involved using my small CNC router to see if it would improve my cigar ashtray-making process. While the ability to cut the same shape repeatedly is a nice advantage, the biggest drawback is the slow cut speed of my CNC. It took more than 6 hours to cut a small design that I could have completed in a fraction of the time with a hand-guided router. I'm really happy with how these custom cigar ashtrays turned out. My original design is my favorite, followed by the white oak version, with the ash wood design coming in third. I look forward to making more of these for the shop because I think they make the perfect personal cigar ashtray.
