Basques in the West
You can find more about the documentary at: www.basquesinthewest.com Along the banks of the Snake River, through the passes of the Sawtooth Mountains, past the rims of the canyon lands of Southern Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is the story of a people often overlooked in Northwestern history. The Basques have been around for generations in these areas, herding sheep and adding their vibrant culture to the beauty of the land. The documentary we intend to make features the Basque people, what they have done to add culture and vitality to the west, the sheep industry, and the changes they are having to make to keep tradition alive and their livelihoods sustainable.
