The TOP GEAR Road - Driving The Black Mountain Pass In Wales

The A4069, the Black Mountain pass over the western side of the Brecon Beacons is also known as the Top Gear road after being featured on a drive in 2011. Driving In Wales - This section of the A4069 stretches from Brynamman over the Black Mountain Pass to Llangadog. The road over the Brecon Beacons rises to 1600 feet before descending back down the valley to the other side. From April 2023 the Brecon Beacons are now called Bannau Brycheiniog As well as an excellent driving road, one of the best drives in Wales. It is an excellent place for hiking or to enjoy the rugged views of South Wales.
