The Bloody Brook Massacre? 1675 Surprise at Deerfield
In this Remembrance Moment, we go STRAIGHT HISTORY and investigate the Battle of Bloody Brook fought September 28th 1675 in South Deerfield Massachusetts. This battle was a great victory for the Native cause (while the Valley Settlements and later American History call it a MASSACRE) with the Nipmuc War Sachem Muttawump pulling off a stunning victory over the English Colonists with a well planned ambush which destroys almost an entire Trained Band commanded by Thomas Lathrop. Come along with me as we check out some LOST HISTORY here in Western Massachusetts and begin a series of Remembrance Moment episodes on KING PHILIP'S WAR which is coming up on its' 350th Anniversary!
