Tung Hu Ling Taijiquan ☯️ Thailand 1953

♾️ Master Tung Hu Ling (Dong Huling) practicing Taijiquan, Push Hands, and Jian (Straight Sword) in Thailand. 🌀 Tung Hu Ling (1917–1992) remains one of the most distinguished masters of the 20th century. Born in the Year of the Tiger, he was named "Tiger Mountain"—"Hu" (虎) meaning tiger and "Ling" (嶺) meaning mountain ridge. In 1947, he moved to Hong Kong to assist his father, Tung Ying-chieh, in managing their Tai Chi academies. From this base, he expanded the family’s reach into Southeast Asia, establishing schools in Thailand (beginning in 1953), Singapore, and Malaysia. He also taught in mainland China and Macau. ☯️ His father, Tung Ying-chieh, was a principal disciple of Yang Cheng-fu (1883–1936) for nearly 20 years. Their journey began in Beijing and concluded in Guangzhou, where Tung served as Yang’s chief assistant until 1936. The Tung family is credited with preserving the Large Frame of the Yang style for future generations, while integrating their own unique martial insights. Today, his grandson, Alex Dong, continues this legacy, leading seminars worldwide across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. 🌐 Learn more: https://alexdongtaichi.com ✨ Shared with the kind permission of his grandson, Alex Dong 🔗 Enjoyed the video?
