On May 13, 2018, 26-year-old Dorukhan Büyükışık was found dead at a construction site in İzmir. Initially, forensic teams and authorities recorded the incident as a "suicide due to a fall from a height." However, the investigation conducted by his father, retired Major General Etem Büyükışık, at the scene, the absence of signs of a fall on the body (which should have been shattered), and the deletion of recordings from 19 construction site cameras that same night, raised suspicions of murder. Following years of arduous legal battles, during which forensic reports were allegedly altered and evidence was concealed, the grieving father's legal fight culminated in a massive operation. Arrest warrants were issued for suspects, including the district police chief at the time, police officers, security guards, and contractors.
