Build the Spirit, Starve the Flesh

St. Paul emphasizes the importance of not receiving God’s grace in vain, highlighting the acceptable time for salvation. He encourages living a righteous life, even if it offends those who choose the wrong path, as the truth and charity are inherently offensive to sin. Lent serves as a time to strengthen our spiritual muscles by resisting worldly temptations and embracing the truth, even in the face of societal pressure to conform. Satan tempts us not with overt worship but with the allure of power, pleasure, and worldly success, mirroring the temptations faced by Jesus. This spiritual desert, filled with distractions and temptations, offers a unique opportunity to choose God’s way and become saints. By recognizing our weakness, praying for grace, and actively choosing to live virtuously, we can overcome Satan’s temptations and rise above the evil surrounding us. Fr.
