The author, Albert Kok, is a professor emeritus at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR) in the USA and a former president of the Society for Cognitive Psychology (Psychonomics) in the Netherlands.
