The native perennials on the terrace are now in full bloom in my 70% natural garden. The field scabious (Knautia arvensis) is particularly prominent. It's joined by the meadow knotweed (Bistorta officinalis), which actually prefers damp conditions, with its pale pink flower spikes. And I planted the lovely elderberry iris (Iris sambucina) last year. Elsewhere in the vegetable garden, sticky catchfly (Lychnis viscaria), purple mullein (Verbascum phoeniceum), and Rosa pimpinellifolia 'Old Yellow' are also in bloom. By the pond, the guelder rose (Viburnum opulus) and alder buckthorn (Frangula alnus) are now flowering, and in the front garden, rock cinquefoil (Potentilla rupestris), geranium sylvaticum, and Meconopsis cambrica continue to thrive alongside Rosa pimpinellifolia 'Latifolia'. #naturalgarden #nativeplants #insectfriendly #gardendesign #beefriendly #naturalisticplantingdesign #wildlifefriendlygarden
