Block Island sea bass and blackfish party boat fishing

My dad and I travel out to Montauk in late November for cod, sea bass, and blackfish (tautog) bottom fishing aboard the Miss Montauk in and around the Block Island fishing grounds. The day started off a little slow as they anchored up for blackfish initially but quickly switched to deeper water to drift for sea bass and cod. We started picking off the sea bass and hoping that we would get lucky enough to get a cod using simple bottom rigs of 10oz. sinkers with 4/0 and 5/0 circle or baitholder hooks in nearly 120' of water. We had filled our cooler with sea bass using mostly clam by about noon, and then they switched back to anchoring for blackfish using both white and green crabs. The current was ripping hard and we could hardly hold bottom with 14 oz. in only about 50 ft of water. Nevertheless, my dad was able to reel in his first keeper blackfish. Shortly after that, the bite started picking up, but I ran out of GoPro batteries, and we caught another keeper and some shorts. This trip was an absolute blast and I'm thankful we got to do it.
