Fate Accelerated Edition (and it's cousin Fate Condensed) are both rules-lite variants of the FATE Core system which I have enjoyed using and playing for years as a great way to introduce new players, who have not played RPGs before, to the hobby. Simple, intuitive and infinitely hackable: the Fate Accelerated system is perfect to create a custom-tailored experience for folks who may have an adversion to the classic "swords & sorcery" feel of D&D or are turned off by the big thick rulebooks.
