Nature of liquid: The polar liquids have higher boiling points than that of nonpolar liquids because polar liquids have strong intermolecular force. Boiling points of a few liquids are given in the table 5.2 ii. Intermolecular forces: Intermolecular forces play a very important role on the boiling point of liquids. Substances having stronger intermolecular forces have high boiling points, because such liquids attain a level of vapour pressure equal to external pressure at high temperature.
