In 1912, Oregon became one of the first states in the nation to allow women to vote. It was a hard-won victory after decades of fighting for suffrage. Once they finally achieved it, Oregon women went on to implement social change that dramatically altered the lives of women and children, and improved working conditions for all Americans.
