Upgrading The Motor Mounts In My Lifted 4X4 GMC Safari

In this episode, I upgrade the motor mounts of my lifted 4x4 GMC Safari. This van was originally an all wheel drive model, so these mounts are for the AWD model. I will link to all those videos down below.    • Astro van motor mounts explained.      • Went Back To Rubber Engine Mounts In The 4...      • Astro Motor Mount Replacement   Anyways, this job sucks, but it's probably a necessary evil when owning an AWD Asto or Safari. The original mounts deteriorate over time, which can eventually cause your engine to sink down and eventually come in contact with your front diff. That can even lead to damage to your oil pan, which considering it's your oil pan, that can be catastrophic. These motormounts can cause increased vibrations, which isn't for everyone, so I encourage you to do your own research before modifying your own van. The aforementioned Michael Zicopolous actually went back to the original style rubber mounts because of it, so definitely watch his video on the topic to get both sides of the argument. Personally, this made a huge difference in my van. My original mounts were toast, and the firmness of these mounts is a big improvement. I can really feel it in my transmission shifts, but I do have increased vibrations at idle. It was a worthwhile trade off in my opinion. Anyways, this video shows my journey doing this job solo.
