This is a series of self-maintenance projects I'm doing purely out of a desire to save money. Some people report a shaking RPM or a "vroom vroom" sound when stopped or idling. This is often caused by carbon buildup in the electronic throttle body (ETC), preventing it from finely controlling the airflow. In some cases, carbon buildup forces the ETC valve to open wider, resulting in higher RPMs than necessary. High RPMs not only reduce ride comfort but also significantly impact fuel economy, as the increased air (oxygen) intake increases fuel consumption. If you start the engine with the throttle body installed but without the connector connected, various warning lights will illuminate, requiring a scanner to clear them. If the carbon buildup on the throttle body isn't significant, cleaning alone may be sufficient. However, in most cases, resetting the learning values ​​will return the RPM to normal levels. So, even if you're doing your own maintenance, be sure to visit a repair shop and have them reset the learning values ​​using a scanner.^^ If you'd like to try your hand at self-maintenance, the video will help you follow along.
