Artvin has been consistently ranked as Turkey’s safest city across numerous lists. Its crown jewel, Şavşat, stands as the province’s only and one of the nation’s few officially designated 'Cittaslow' or 'Slow City.' Having long heard of this land’s breathtaking nature through Pınarlı village locals Kaan and Hakan Aydın, I finally had the chance to witness its deep-rooted culture, history, and rural life firsthand, even if only for a day.
