SŁOWENIA to nie tylko Bled! Zdobyliśmy HOCHSTUHL (Stol) 2236 m n.p.m.

Looking for an amazing trek in Slovenia that will completely outshine the popular attractions around Lake Bled? In this video, we take you to Hochstuhl (Stol), rising to 2,236 meters above sea level, the highest and most spectacular peak in the entire Karawanken mountain range! Join us, Ania, and our group of friends on a route that will take your breath away from the very first meters. The entire trip begins in an incredibly charming spot: the parking lot by the turquoise Lake Završnica. We leave the car there at an altitude of 630 meters above sea level and immediately set off on a steep uphill climb. The initial section involves a walk through a dense, atmospheric forest, which occasionally offers stunning views of Lake Bled below. The perfect place to catch your first deep breath and take a few photos is Žirovniška planina (1188 m above sea level) – this clearing has an incredible charm! The real magic, however, begins when the forest suddenly thins out and is left behind. The landscape instantly transforms into a rugged, rocky, and completely open landscape, and we begin our hike with our heads literally in the clouds. Before we reach the summit, however, we check in at the iconic mountain hut, Prešernova koča na Stolu, which lies at an altitude of 2174 m above sea level. The atmosphere here is unmistakable! We enlivened our well-deserved rest with two bowls of delicious, traditional local soups and a hearty rehydration, bravely accompanied by a cold non-alcoholic beer. From there, it was only a 15-minute ridge hike to the summit of Hochstuhl. When we finally reached 2,236 meters above sea level, Slovenia revealed its other side. A light overcast added drama, and the view on the other, Austrian side of the mountain was simply a gigantic, vertical cliff that made your head spin! Of course, we didn't give up on tradition – the visitor's book was checked, and the stamp proudly landed in our mountain booklets. To avoid retracing our steps, we took a completely different route down, creating a beautiful, challenging loop and ending the day with huge smiles on our faces back at the lake.
