Luftwaffe Over Manhattan - Heinkel 177 Raid Via Greenland?

The German desire to attack New York City in WW2 is well-known. However, in 2005, a previously unknown plan to bomb NY using Heinkel He 177 bombers came to light. What was the German plan, was it feasible and what role might Greenland have played in the operation?
