Porosity and permeability combined with concrete cover are identified as the most critical parameters, enabling the inspector to estimate and match the life expectancy of a concrete structure. The durability of concrete can be defined as the concrete’s ability to resist weathering action, chemical attacks and abrasion whilst at the same time not compromising the concrete’s desired engineering properties. In these webinars, we will provide an overview of the applications from the two aspects, typically involved in the quality inspection for new buildings and the wear evaluation of existing structures. The practical aspects of the testing procedures as well as the data interpretation will be presented in accordance with international guidelines and established literature.
