Packrafting Adventures with a Broken Paddle - 2 Days of Paddling on the Alz and Traun Rivers @xboil, @FlussFahrerMatthes Lake Chiemsee, Alpine rivers, a broken paddle, whitewater, and above all, an enthusiastic group that persevered through thick (heavy rain) and thin (dawning paddling conditions). Until a week before the start of the trip, we were still looking forward to sunshine and Indian summer. Absolutely miserable weather awaited us on the paddling days in the Bavarian Alps. Unfortunately, this didn't change, and water levels rose everywhere. Leo chose rivers that are navigable at high water levels or only become navigable when water levels rise.
