Diagnosed with a Rare Disease: My Cushing's Story Part 1 - Explanation & Symptoms

When my hair started falling out and it seemed like everything about my body was changing, I felt lost, hopeless, and I didn’t understand why this was happening to me. I took to YouTube when I was in the process of being diagnosed with Cushing’s in 2020 and listening to people's stories was the only way for me to get an insight into what was happening to me. Cushing’s is a very isolating disease and it can feel terribly lonely. While I love my non-cushy viewers and I so appreciate them for wanting to know my story, this video is primarily for people who may be candidates or have been diagnosed. I’ve felt called to share my story for quite some time and I’m so happy to be vulnerable and share what information I can about this disease. In this video, I will be giving a brief description of what Cushing’s is and what symptoms I experienced. I experienced over 30 symptoms and this video would be hours long if I spoke to each one so I picked my top 10 that I believed needed more explanation. I will be speaking about my diagnosis, surgery, and recovery in future videos and I will continue to raise awareness about Cushing’s for the rest of my life in some capacity.
