MyCP Webinar: Wellbeing with NCHPAD – and Why This Summer is the Perfect Time to Start

If you’ve been curious about MENTOR but haven’t taken the plunge, this webinar is for you. MENTOR – Mindfulness, Exercise, Nutrition to Optimize Resilience – is a free, virtual 8-week wellbeing program from the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) designed for adults with physical disabilities and chronic conditions. Through mindfulness, adaptive exercise, nutrition education, and health coaching, MENTOR takes a whole-person approach to improving health and wellbeing. In 2021, CP Research Network partnered with National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) the creators of the MENTOR wellness program, to tune this course to adults with cerebral palsy. Nine pilot attendees from the CP Research Network community took the course and offered extensive feedback to the program creators for how it should change to serve the CP community best. NCHPAD listened. And the program just got even better. In addition to the live program, MENTOR now offers an On-Demand option that allows participants to access program content on their own schedule while still benefiting from the same evidence-informed wellbeing approach. Prefer a live group with a set schedule? That option is still available as well. Grab a friend and check out this video to learn more about the program, hear updates from the CP Research Network and NCHPAD staff, explore both the Live and On-Demand MENTOR options, and listen to MENTOR alumni share their experiences.
