After playing Trails In The Sky The 3rd for the first time, I see why this is considered one of the most debated entries in the entire series. It focuses heavily on combat and includes doors to make up for the main story's lack of "exposition" that defines these games. However, the more I played, the more I realized this is probably my favorite of the bunch so far.
