Highlights 2017-2018 Spladle City Final Wrestling Season
My last season did not go as planned! For the second time I came into the national tournament as the 5 seed and did not place. This time I came into the tournament with an injured right knee stemming from last seasons surgery, I won my first two matches by fall and then tore the ACL in my left knee in the round of 16. It is not what I had hoped for but that is life! I wrestled til my last leg gave out. In my career I successfully showed how effective the spladle can be even at the collegiate level, I led UMBC as captain from 2014-2018 on teams that took 8th at national duals in 2016, 7th at nationals duels in 2018 and our highest ever finish at NCWA individual nationals at 8th place in 2018 with four All-Americans. I finished with a career record of 69-23 plus nearly 50 spladle pins. In my final season I spladled and won against the 184lb NCAA D3 national champion, the 174lb 3rd place finisher at NCWA nationals, and the 174lb 6th place finisher at JUCO nationals. I will be getting surgery in May of 2018, expected recovery time is 9-12 months. Thank you for watching, see you in another video! soundcloud: / brandon_buckin. . instagram / brandon_buc. .
