The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - An Oral History from the Game Developers
Whilst my channel is predominantly focused on Warhammer, I wanted to make a video about my favourite game of all time - The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind This "documentary" is my attempt at making an authentic and comprehensive oral history/retrospective of the game, from the people who made it. I reached out to as many of the developers that I could find and asked them to take part. Sadly not everyone replied, and some turned me down, or I was unable to find contact details for others, but those featured in this video were kind enough to take time out of their day and reminisce about their experiences working on Morrowind. I think it's also worth noting that memory is a funny thing - we're talking about events over two decades ago and there may be some "factually incorrect" statements. This is just the nature of doing interviews. The idea behind uploading an 8 hour video is to allow people to cherry pick interviews they'd like to watch, but I'd strongly encourage you to watch them all - you'd be surprised at what you might find. Don't fret too much about my gameplay footage I've included, this is largely just to help show off the world of Morrowind. What's important is the people I'm interviewing and what they're saying ;) TIMECODES: Introduction - 00:00:12 Intro cinematic - 00:07:30 Ken Rolston (Lead Designer) - 00:08:28 Michael Kirkbride (Concept Art / Writing) - 01:02:24 Kurt Kuhlmann (Lead Designer Pre-Production) - 01:45:24 Douglas Goodall (Writing and Quest Design) - 02:01:42 Mark Nelson (Writing and Quest Design) - 02:16:30 Mark Bullock (World Art and Building) - 02:45:22 Noah Berry (World Art and Building) - 03:29:11 Christine Miller (World Art and Building) - 04:21:10 Jason Carl Ruddy (Sound FX) - 04:41:11 Matt Picioccio (Programming) - 05:06:07 Scott Hoffman (Programming) - 05:42:06 Juan Sanchez (Character and Creature Art) 06:00:00 Jeff Baker (Voice Actor) - 06:36:26 Linda Kenyon (Voice Actress) - 06:44:37 Shari Elliker (Voice Actress) - 06:52:24 Wes Johnson (Voice Actor) - 07:02:42 Catherine Flye (Voice Actress) - 07:29:12 David DeBoy (Voice Actor) - 07:37:25 Elisabeth Noone (Voice Actress) - 07:50:26 Acknowledgments - 07:57:23 It's been a wonderful experience producing this documentary. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2027, and it's great to see the game is still so beloved by many and continues to delight and inspire players.
