Storytelling is an innate part of human existence. Whether through cave paintings at Lascaux, hieroglyphs carved into limestone tombs upon the Giza Plateau, or through the oral traditions of indigenous peoples worldwide, stories have been used throughout the ages to educate, entertain, and enlighten. We employ them to share our experiences lest they be forgot. Given that music itself is a shared experience and its ability to convey both information and emotion, it’s not surprising that modern musicians still write albums that tell tales ranging from tragic to triumphant. Austin and Charlie from PANOPTICON have composed such an album with their latest offering, ‘Det hjemsøkte hjertet’.
