The Bartoletti Two Step Impression
This video demonstrates a crown and bridge impression technique. Some techniques require retraction cord or paste to physically move or push gingiva away from crown preparation margins. This can be potentially damaging to the gingiva if not done carefully. My technique doesn’t require retraction cord or paste. The pre-operative medium body PVS impression is filled with PVS light body impression material and the area around the margins also has light body impression applied to them. The impression tray is then seated. The light body material will gently push the gingiva away from the margins and capture the detail of the crown preparation. It is a highly successful technique, and fairly easy to do!
