We visited a greenhouse to learn about propagation, new varieties, the technology used, and progress made, among other aspects. Papaya is a crop with very rapid vegetative growth, beginning to produce 8-9 months after planting, much earlier than most fruit trees, which begin to produce 4, 5, or 6 years after planting.
