I visited the Iguaçu Falls and the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas resort! Located in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, in the state of Paraná, Iguaçu National Park is home to the phenomenal Iguaçu Falls and the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, the park's only hotel. Opened in 1958, the Hotel das Cataratas was built in Portuguese colonial style and stands out in the landscape due to its pink paintwork. In 2007, it was taken over by the British-based Belmond group, which operates in 46 countries and also owns the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro. The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has 187 rooms, several with views of the falls—and guests have, of course, the privilege of admiring the Iguaçu Falls outside of the National Park's opening hours. In this video, I explore this hotel in detail and also show the main attractions nearby, such as the panoramic flight over the falls, offered by Helisul, Macuco Safari, and Parque das Aves.
