Welcome to our home! We continue working, and this week it's time to waterproof the flat garage roof. We need to install the drainpipe, slope the water drainage, and install the waterproofing membrane. To do this, we'll use expanded clay aggregate to lighten the mortar filler, apply bituminous primer with a roller, and adhere the membrane by applying heat with a blowtorch. Once finished, we must perform a watertightness test by filling the terrace with water to check for leaks or drips in the roof. This is the first step in building an inverted roof, in which the waterproofing is installed underneath the thermal insulation.
