Why Consciousness Is Accelerating | Teilhard de Chardin, Creative Evolution, and The Noosphere
An exploration into the life and ideas of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. At once a paleontologist, geologist, philosopher, and catholic priest, Chardin was an immensely ambitious thinker who sought to bridge the divide between science and spirituality. At an early age he became possessed with a fiery passion to answer the most fundamental questions in life. The culmination of his life's work is found in his posthumously published magnum opus: "The Phenomenon of Man", the text which will serve as the guiding light for this video. This video explores cosmic evolution, consciousness expansion, complexity theory, and the noosphere. Expect an updated treatment of Chardin's work, with a few tangents for shedding light on more modern research and developments (like the INTERNET, something that Teilhard effectively predicted decades prior), and much, much more. From the formation of the early universe, to the explosion of biological diversity, to the earliest flickers of consciousness in humankind, and even the deepest future of the cosmos ... this video casts a very wide net. I literally spent the past 3 months since finishing the previous video on this one and it has completely consumed me lol. Please like and share and do whatever to help this video grow the channel more :) See you guys in the next one.
