A Conversation with Darkhorse One Four- Doug Hicks
On June 15, 2023, I once again traveled to the American Honor Foundation Museum (AHF) at Jumbolair Aviation Estates in Ocala, Florida to interview one of America's combat veterans. Vietnam veteran Doug Hicks flew Hueys and Loaches in the 16th Air Cavalry in 1970/71. What made this reunion special is that AHF has OH-6A s/n 67-16435 in its collection. Hicks logged dozens of combat hours in this Loach and on this day, fifty years after he last saw this helicopter, he was reunited with it and flew it once again.
