In today's video we discuss how to modify the sleeve size for a drop shoulder style sweater without changing the body size. I provide two options on how to do this: using an existing size in the pattern or how to customize your perfect sleeve! Are you ready to knit your first sweater but don't know where to start? I've created a FREE guide with everything you need to be successful in your first hand knit sweater! MATH DETAILS TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR SLEEVE To determine how many stitches to pick up around the circumference of the armhole: divide your target circumference in inches (13") by 4, then multiply the result (aha!) by your gauge (18 sts). To determine your rate of shaping down the sleeve: divide your total sleeve length before the cuff (14.5") by the total number of decrease rounds (7) and round down the result to the nearest 1/2" or 1 cm (or your preferred interval).
