She completed her doctorate (PhD) in honey bee genomics and behavior at the University of California, San Diego in 2022. 🌼 Currently, she is completing a UC Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Riverside with Dr. Jessica Purcell's research group, studying supergene evolution in a native wood ant. 🌼 Daniela strongly believes in the importance and value of science communication and education and strives to make science both accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience. Her science communication style is broadly influenced by theater, dance, spoken word, comedy, and telenovelas. 🌼 She is also currently working on developing STEAM educational programming for the incarcerated communities of southern California as part of a larger prison-industrial complex abolition project.
