Sergiev Posad near Moscow is often called the Russian Vatican. The church and believers do not like this, but they support the image of the main religious center and even think of developing it even more. The Russian Orthodox Church has already proposed the idea of demolishing half of the city outside the Lavra because of its unsatisfactory appearance, and now a concept for transforming the city for 140 billion rubles is ready.
