The Bird Park at TMII (Indonesian Bird Museum) boasts the most comprehensive bird collection in Indonesia, totaling thousands of birds. It also serves as a conservation institution, an educational center for students, and a research facility for students. More than 200 bird species, including many protected and rare species like the Javan Hawk-eagle, have been successfully bred here as part of TMII's breeding and conservation efforts. In 2022, the Bird Park was revitalized and reopened in 2023 with a new, modern and beautiful look. The Maleo Amphitheater stands at its center, offering bird shows and presentations, while Bantimurung Cave transports visitors to the tranquil Bantimurung Restaurant. From the restaurant, visitors can enjoy views of the artificial lake and even participate in interactive activities like feeding pelicans. The bird collection is arranged according to the distribution of animals in Indonesia, based on the Wallace Line, which divides the park into Greater Sunda and Wallacea Sahul. In the western Greater Sunda dome, visitors can explore the domes by ascending the skywalk, where they will be entertained by the chirping of birds from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Bali, such as peacocks, parrots, hornbills, and Bali starlings. Meanwhile, in the eastern dome, birds from Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, such as birds of paradise, cassowaries, parrots, and maleos, roam, showcasing their charm.
